ServaRICA VPS is Scheduled for Network Upgrade

One of my service node is hosted in ServaRICA – and it is supposed to be hard-rebooted and down for 1 hour tomorrow.

We will be doing network upgrade in the server that is hosting your VM with IP X.X.X.X
Your VM will be shutdown and rebooted as a result of this procedure
The maintenance window will be for 2 hours starting from 2nd Sept 2020 8AM EST to 2nd Sept 2020 10AM EST
The VM is expected to be down for approx 1 hour during the window
Note: This work is needed in order to offer you the free 1gbps port upgrade which we plan to roll out within this week to our customers

This isn’t ideal – as the server will be offline – but the good news is that after the network upgrade, there will be a free 1gbps port.

I was duplicating the service to another server – but somehow due to configuration – it didn’t work as expected. The bad news is that I thought it worked, apparently the browser cache fooled me. I realised this and promptly switched it back to the origin server when I saw the number of requests have drastically dropped today.

Thanks to the Always Online technology offered by CloudFlare – I probably won’t bother the hassle to redirecting the traffic to another server during the network-upgrading window.
